Caretta Caretta

Did you know? šŸ¢Turtles are one of the oldest species living on earth!

Cyprus is home to two types of sea turtles: Loggerhead Sea Turtle (Caretta Caretta) and Green Sea Turtles (Chelonia mydas), but there is a threat of them becoming endangered. We must protect them!

Last week, we welcomed SPOT - North Cyprus Society for the Protection of Turtles to talk to Year 5 students about the work they do to protect Sea Turtles and showed them the many ways in which we, as a community, can help too. Students were curious to hear all about the ongoing projects and were definately excited when they were told about the various conservation projecs that they could volunteer for once they turn 16.

At the end of the presentation, Students presented SPOT with a lovely surprise... beautifully painted stones, which they have been working on in class this week. Well done Year 5!
